What is a cell?

The cell is the basic structural,functional and biological unit of all known organisms A cell is the smallest unit of life. They are also call " building blocks of life".

Cell membrane 
The basic components of a cell are called cell membrane. The cytoplasm and nucleus are enclosed with the cell membrane.

Cytoplasm
The jelly-like substance between the nucleus and the cell membrane is called cytoplasm.

Nucleus 
The central dense body in the centre is calle the nucleus.

Cell wall
There is an outer thick layer in cells of plants called cell wall

Gene
 Gene is a unit of inheritance in living organisms . It controls the transfer of a hereditary characteristic from parents to offspring.

Vacuole
Blank looking structure in cytoplasm is called vacuole.

Plastids
Plastids are scattered in the cytoplasm of the leaf cells.

Chloroplasts
Green colored plastids are called chloroplasts.
